Two Pratt & Whitney PW545C engines contribute to the high thrust-to-weight ratio of the XLS+. So not only can you cruise at more than 441 knots (817 km/h), but you can also fly more than 1,858 nautical miles (3,441 km) with four passengers on board. And in true XLS fashion, you can still use airfields as short as 3,560 feet (1,085 m) at maximum takeoff weight.
And now with full-authority digital engine controls (FADEC) standard on the XLS+, pilot workload is significantly reduced during the busiest phases of flight.
Two dual channel FADEC controlled, Pratt & Whitney Canada PW545C turbofan engines are installed on the XLS+. The PW545C produces a static takeoff thrust of 4,119 pounds (18.32 kN) at sea level, up to 77°F (25°C) and has a bypass ratio of 3.8:1. Hydraulically actuated, target-type thrust reversers are attached to each engine. An APU is incorporated for engine start and other benefits.
